Meet Rebecca

Stylish, Fun, and Contemporary Wedding Inspiration

Your Go-To Source For

Formerly in the events and home décor departments of Vogue magazine in New York City, Rebecca Marín Shepherd made her way back to Texas to focus on her passion for wedding planning. For over five years, The Wildflowers has been a one-stop event planning, floral, stationery, and design shop, where Rebecca has planned and designed weddings all over the world and continues to do so for a limited number of clientele a year.

After graduating from Southern Methodist University with a Corporate Communications degree in Crisis Management and Public Relations, Rebecca Marín Shepherd began working at Vogue magazine in the Home Accessories, now called Living, department in New York City. There, she developed her love of interiors, creating meaningful spaces, and the art of hosting and entertaining. One of her projects

in particular caught her attention - Vogue’s Annual Wedding Guide. Helping to decide what each bride personality’s wedding details might look like created a clear segue into her interest in weddings. She later moved into Vogue’s Public Relations, Marketing, and Events department, where she not only put out fires and managed brand crises, but also began planning for events like the Met Gala and political events Anna Wintour hosted with former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Her love for events led her to freelancing as a wedding planner, having the opportunity to plan and design Martha Stewart’s niece’s wedding on her aunt Martha’s property in Katonah, New York. After these experiences in crisis management, interiors, marketing, and event production, she moved back to Texas to create The Wildflowers.
